07.12.2011 : THE ALBUM'S FINISHED!!
The album's finished!!
All right, dear friends. So here's a little explanation why it took a little over a year before we finished the album. After we'd finished working on the studio and recording the drums about a year ago, the following happened.
We got the guitars and the bass down on schedule, so all we had left were synths and vocals. Then a complete burnout happened at least for me and I believe also to a few others in our little Masterstroke family. And so the vocal recordings took longer and longer .. and a little bit longer still. Then we decided that what the fuck, we're doing this in our own studio, in our time and with our own money, not to mention mostly to ourselves, so if I don't fucking want to then I don't have to. So we had to come up with some kind of a solution.
We ended up with continuing to do as and when we felt like it. So each of us in their own way took some time off for the summer holidays doing anything but band related stuff. This was also compounded by Janne hurting his arm so we couldn't have done any gigs even if we'd wanted to; we even had to cancel the tour with Jeff Scott Soto. Then this fall with new-found enthusiasm, we returned back to work and finished the album. So it goes, but I can tell you that the little break was worth it. This album kicks so much ass, it's gonna jingle your bells!
